Cheers to Beer, International Beer Day is Growing

On August 5th, 2011, breweries, pubs and beer lovers all over the world will raise a glass to their favorite frothy brew, and this year the celebration will be bigger than ever — with more than 200 celebrations planned, the event is sure to create a buzz.
“It’s incredibly gratifying to see so many people getting ready to join in the celebration,” said co-organizer Jesse Avshalmov. “International Beer Day started small back in 2007, and it’s grown so much every year, with more celebrations, more countries, and more celebrators.”
The event, inspired by a passion for beer, has grown into a celebration of all the things that make a brew special. International Beer Day celebrates not only the beer, but also the brewers who produce it and the establishments that serve it.
Pubs, bars, breweries and restaurants participating in International Beer Day will celebrate by designing beer flights, hosting beer tastings and even creating new brews. Individuals can expect pub crawls, live bands, special offers and self-launched events taking place all over the world.
International Beer Day’s founders dream of uniting the world for one day every year in celebration of a single ideal we can all agree on: The deliciousness of beer.
